The Canyon 27 showing area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded by Late Triassic granodiorite, Early Jurassic monzodiorite to gabbro (Texas Creek Plutonic Suite) and Triassic to Jurassic syenite to monzonite (Copper Mountain Plutonic Suite).

The Canyon 27 area is underlain by medium grained hornblende diorite that is occasionally cut by white bull quartz veins containing a trace pyrite. Sample 31761 is a sample such a white quartz vein in which assayed 2.02 grams per tonne (Assessment Report 20152).
